Below please find the bus transportation request form for the 2024-25 academic year. Please note that our buses utilize Hub Stops along our routes. All bus confirmations will take a minimum of 48 hours and will be communicated through CLASS DOJO. • The Academy of Dover is a free public K-8 charter school in Dover, Del.
• All charter schools are free, public schools.
• AOD's school day is from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and hub-stop transportation is provided.
• Students study English language arts, math, science, social studies, Technology, art, music and PE/health.
• The adult-to-student ratio at AOD is 20-to-1.
• The average class size is 20 students.
• ALL students receive FREE breakfast and lunch!
• AOD opened in 2003
• Kindergarten students must turn 5 by August 31 in accordance with Delaware Code.

Transportation
The Academy of Dover Charter School provides bus service and utilizes a private contractor for student transportation. The contractor meets all the standards and requirements of the transportation contractors established by Delaware laws and regulations.
How do I apply?
The Academy of Dover Charter School uses an open enrollment plan. Any child who is qualified under the laws of Delaware for enrollment to a public school is qualified for admission to the Academy of Dover Charter School. Before enrollment, all perspective families must meet with the school's Head of School.
How can I find out if AOD is closed, delayed or dismissed early?
In the event of inclement weather, please check Class DOJO or listen check the following stations to determine whether the Academy of Dover is closed:
